Data & Security
Does VantageView send my financial data to the cloud or to any AI provider?
No. VantageView runs entirely on your own servers or private cloud, on-site, with no external API calls. Cortex, VantageView's query engine, runs locally using deterministic logic and language models installed alongside the application, so your questions and your data never leave your infrastructure. Nothing is sent to OpenAI, Google, Anthropic, or any other third party, and VantageView's own support team cannot access your data remotely.
Read more on the Sovereignty page.
Will VantageView change or write anything in my accounting system or ERP?
No. VantageView only reads from your books. It never writes back, posts entries, edits transactions, or alters master data in your accounting system or ERP, so your system of record stays exactly as your team left it. Anything you see in VantageView, from dashboards to flags to Cortex answers, is a view of your data, not a change to it. Your accountants, auditors, and existing controls keep working exactly as before.
Is VantageView cloud-based or on-premise?
On-premise or private-cloud by design. That is the core of the product, not an add-on. You install VantageView inside your own environment, and once it is running it works completely offline: no cloud dependency, no ongoing external connection required. Updates are delivered as auditable packages you control, not pushed automatically from outside.

If your system isn't on the list, we build custom adaptors for legacy and bespoke setups during implementation. Contact us to know more, or see the full list on the Integrations page.
What data does VantageView actually need to work?
Just your general ledger and standard accounting data, nothing more. VantageView is deliberately built to derive its full range of insight (P&L, cash flow, fraud detection, forecasting, consolidation) from GL and accounting data alone, without requiring a separate data warehouse, secondary integrations, or an IT project to stand up.
What kind of server do I need to run VantageView?
Nothing exotic. Most of the businesses we work with don't have a dedicated IT or server team, so VantageView is built and optimized to run comfortably on modest, generally-available hardware: a standard multi-core CPU, 8 GB of RAM, and 512 GB of disk space is enough to get started. A more powerful server will improve performance on larger datasets, but it isn't a requirement.
How long does implementation take, and what's involved?
For qualified environments that meet the minimum system requirements, deployment can be completed in as little as 72 hours. That speed comes from pre-built, pluggable connectors for the systems you already run, so there is no migration and no long integration project. The demo call confirms what this looks like for your ERP.
It starts with a 45-minute demo call, a video call built around your actual setup, followed by a scoped, read-only look at your data before anything is installed. If you would rather get a first read on your own before booking a call, the free Financial Integrity Checklist (12 questions, no email required, instantly scored) gives you a quick self-assessment of where your own oversight gaps likely are.
What It Does
How does VantageView detect fraud or unusual transactions?
VantageView continuously scans your ledger in the background, comparing transaction patterns, vendor pricing, customer payment behavior, and stock movement against what is normal for your business, and flags anything that looks off: a round number showing up too often, a vendor price that has crept up quietly, a customer suddenly paying slower than usual, stock that has stopped moving. You get an alert pointing to the specific transactions behind it, not just a vague warning, so you know exactly what to check and why.
See it in action on the Intelligence Core page.
Can VantageView consolidate financials across multiple legal entities?
Yes. Multi-entity gives you a single, consolidated bird's-eye view across all your entities. If Entity A shows $1,000 in revenue and Entity B shows $4,000, the consolidated view shows $5,000, and the same roll-up applies across every metric on every dashboard card. From there you can drill down to see how each entity contributes to the total; if you need to dig further into what is actually behind a number, you log into that specific entity's own VantageView instance to diagnose it in detail. Think of the consolidated view as the 30,000-foot summary, and each entity's own view as where you go to investigate. Entity scaling is tiered, with unlimited entities available on higher plans.

What industries does VantageView serve?
VantageView ships purpose-built views for Holding Companies (consolidated multi-entity oversight), Manufacturing (yield, waste, and BOM variance), Retail (store performance and shrinkage), Trading and Distribution (credit risk and deal profitability), Logistics (fleet cost and route profitability), and Professional Services (utilization and revenue recognition), each with its own dashboards rather than a one-size-fits-all view.

How It Compares
How is VantageView different from Power BI, Tableau, or other cloud BI tools?
Power BI and Tableau are general-purpose dashboard tools: powerful, but blank canvases. Someone on your team (usually a dedicated BI person or an outside consultant) still has to connect the data, build every report, and decide what "normal" looks like before it is useful, and that typically takes weeks or months. VantageView comes pre-built specifically for financial oversight: fraud and anomaly detection, multi-entity consolidation, and cash forecasting are ready from the day you connect your books, tuned for GL and accounting data rather than a general-purpose visualization layer you configure yourself.
The other difference is where it runs. Power BI and Tableau are most commonly used as cloud services, which means your financial data sits on the vendor's shared infrastructure and you depend on their uptime and your internet connection to see it. (Self-hosted editions exist, but they still need someone to build and maintain every report.) VantageView runs entirely on your own infrastructure and keeps working even offline.
And critically: Power BI and Tableau show you whatever you build them to show. They don't proactively flag a vendor's price creeping up or a customer's payment pattern slipping unless someone builds and maintains that logic separately. VantageView does this out of the box, continuously, with no configuration required.
My team already uses Excel to do similar calculations. Why do I need VantageView?
Fair question, and if Excel is genuinely covering everything below for you already, you may not need to change anything yet. But ask yourself:
- Does your Excel flag a vendor's price creeping up 2% a month before it quietly becomes a 20% problem?
- Does it warn you that a customer's payment pattern is slipping before it turns into a cash crunch?
- Does it automatically eliminate inter-company transactions across every entity, every month, without someone rebuilding the same pivot table by hand?
For most finance teams, the honest answer is no, because doing this in Excel means someone manually pulling data, building formulas, and re-checking them every single reporting cycle. That is slow, it is easy to get wrong under time pressure, and it depends entirely on one person remembering to run it, correctly, every time. VantageView runs the same kind of analysis continuously and automatically, straight off your books, so nothing depends on someone remembering to check, and nothing waits until month-end to surface.
